How do I Implement the feature for affiliates to post links to Facebook?
 
Note:  You must be using version 9.01 or higher to implement this feature.  Version 9.0 users can email us to obtain the necessary files.

Note: Only Static Banners, Text Links or Product Images are supported at this time.  Advanced banners including Flash are not supported.

Note regarding images: Facebook restricts the size of images and will scale down most images when uploaded.  Some images do not scale nicely (wide images) and may not be displayed if Facebook cannot scale them properly.
 Once you have verified you are using 9.01 or higher, you can follow these instructions...

Create an Application in FaceBook in order to support posting data to Facebook

  1. First, you need to log on into Facebook Develop  application. Click this link http://www.facebook.com/developers/.

    Then, click “Allow” to let the Developer application access your profile.
     
  2. Next, click the Set Up New Application button.



     
  3. Enter a name for the application then click Create Application.  If a security check is presented enter the text to confirm.



     
  4. On the next screen click Web Site on the left side.


     
  5. Under Site URL, enter the full URL where you installed Affiliate Wiz and include the trailing "/".




     
  6. Save the changes.
  7. On the screen that is presented, note or copy your Application ID before proceeding to the next step.

Setup your Application ID in Affiliate Wiz

In the folder where you installed Affiliate Wiz, find the web.config file and edit the file.  In the first section you will find several Key/value tags including the database connection.  Look for this key:

<add key="FaceBookApplicationID" value=""/>

 If you do not see this key, please add it right below the other keys.  After value="" enter your ApplicationID.  For example:

<add key="FaceBookApplicationID" value="123266624378621"/>

 Now save the web.config file.

Perform a test by logging in as an Affiliate

 You should now login as an affiliate and perform a test under Products, Text Links or Banners.  Compatible links will have a Publish To Facebook button.
