| 1) Set
Preferences |
Since you are
just getting started, it is vital to the Affiliate Wiz program that you
begin by setting your preferences. View the Affiliate Wiz help
file for more information on the parameters.
|
| 2) Create
one or more Affiliate Types |
Affiliates in
version 3 and higher are grouped into Affiliate Types.
This allows you to offer different banners, links and products
to subsets of affiliates. Before you can proceed on to
the next step you must create at least one Affiliate
Type.
|
| 3) Create
Categories |
| Before you can begin entering
banners, text links, and product images, you must first create
one or more categories. We suggest creating separate
categories for all the different types of affiliate promotions
you are running. For example, if have an email
newsletter and you will be paying affiliates a lead fee each
time someone joins the newsletter, you might create a category
called "Newsletter Leads".
Similarly, you might create a bunch of categories for all your
different products. |
| 4) Enter
your banners, text links and product images |
| Enter the banners, text links,
and product images that will be available to your affiliates
in order to promote your products and services. |
| 5) Link to
your Online Store to begin tracking sales |
| For information on linking to
your online store, log into the Affiliate Wiz administration,
then click on Sales under the Code option.
Additional
information is also available on our support page. |
| 6) Provide
a link to Signup Page |
| You will want to make it easy
for affiliates to join your affiliate program. Most
customers create an information page on their web site, then
link it to the Affiliate Wiz signup page. The Affiliate Signup page is
called join.asp and is located in the root directory where
Affiliate Wiz was installed. For example, if Affiliate
Wiz was installed at http://www.yourdomain.com/affiliatewiz
then the signup page is: http://www.yourdomain.com/affiliatewiz/join.asp
In version 4.0 the signup page is
join.aspx |
| 7) Recruit
Members |
| Begin recruiting Affiliates! |
| Note: If running a
multi-tier affiliate program, modify the file called tier2literature.htm
to specify all the promotional material available to your
affiliates for promoting your affiliate program. Your
affiliates will see this information when administering their
accounts. |
